The Tourists

This past week, the six of us have played the role of tourist quite well. Piled into our large white SUV equipped with our cameras and snacks, we have ventured out to explore something new each day.  Yesterday, we started the day off doing something local - the farmer's market.  I always enjoy walking around, looking at what the local vendors have to offer.

Back to being tourists by afternoon - we headed to St.Petes beach for a sailing trip to see the dolphins.

It was a great day to be out on the water and we got to see plenty of dolphins.

We were lucky to get into Ceviche for dinner last night, a popular restaurant right downtown St. Petersburg.  Our expectations were high after reading the rave reviews.  Our problem – lack of experience with a Tapas restaurant. The large menu confused us – we didn’t know what to order and how much to order.  Our waiter should have been more helpful (after all we are tourists), instead we discussed a strategy, a game plan for ordering.  Within 15 minutes, waiters started arriving one after the other with plates of food.  We felt rushed, eating the food too quickly to make room for the new arrivals.  Our dinner was over in 45 minutes.  Nonetheless, we were all very impressed with the food, collectively agreeing that it was by far the best restaurant we have eaten at yet.  It was our mistake and we will know better for next time.

We stopped along the water for a drink and live music to end the night.

Today is our last full day.  The sun is shining and it is hot hot hot - doesn't make it easy to think of going home tomorrow.

Wishing my good friend P back in Toronto a very Happy Birthday!!

Hope you all enjoy your Sunday.
